Pandit Hom Nath Upadhyaya
Hom Nath Upadhyaya ~ tabla

Born in Nepal and educated in Nepal and India, Pandit Hom Nath Upadhyaya is a master teacher, performer, and scholar of the tabla, which he has played for over 40 years. His gurus include Pandit Ramji Mishra of Benares, Pandit Shambhu Mishra of Kathmandu, Nepal, and the legendary Ahmedjaan Thirakwa. He holds a B.A. in English, History, and Sanskrit from Gorakhpur University and an M.A. in Music from Prayag Sangeet Samiti in Allahabad, India.

Abhijit Banerjee ~ tabla

Abhijit Banerjee is among the premier tabla players in the world and is one of the most sought after performers of Indian classical music. For the past twenty years, Abhijit has crafted a unique style, creative approach and sensitity which has garnered accolades and awards for his deep sense of musicality. Abhijit has accompanied most of the major figures of Indian music including Pandit Ravi Shankar, the late Pandit Nikhil Banerjee, Begum Parweena Sultana, Pandit Jasraj, Pandit Shiv Kumar Sharma and Dr. Balamurali Krishnan. As a tabla soloist, he has made his mark through performances and recordings in India & abroad. As a crossover artist, performer/composer, Abhijit has collaborations with musicians such as Ry Cooder, Larry Corryell & Trilok Gurtu. He leads his own ensemble TARANG and is a member of Arohi Ensemble. Abhijit founded & established Dhwani Academy of Percussion in Los Angeles and also teaches in New York, Singapore, Mexico City and Calcutta attracting talented students from around the world.

Gourisankar Karmakar
Gourisankar Karmakar ~ tabla

Born in 1964 to a nationally respected family of musicians, Sri Gourisankar, the grandson of famed dhrupadiya (vocalist) Jotindra Mohan Karmakar, began studying and playing tabla at the young age of three years old under the able guidance of his father, Mr. Shib Shankar Karmakar - a noted disciple of the tabla maestro, the late Ustad Keramatulla Khan. In conjunction with his studies, Gourisankar pursued the art and technique of tabla seriously and soon developed superb control over the instrument. Since 1979, he has been under the tutelage of the Tabla Maestro Pandit Sankha Chatterjee, who is the only living Maestro who has studied with three legendary tabla Maestros in strict Parampara tradition. These legendary Masters are: Ustad Maseet Khan, Ustad Keramatullah Khan, and Ustad Allarakha Khan.

Subhajyoti Guha
Subhajyoti Guha ~ tabla

Subhajyoti Guha is already a known name in the field of tabla and Indian Classical music both nationally and internationally. He is a disciple of Pandit Sankha Chatterjee and is a grade A artiste of All India Radio and Television. He regularly tours and accompanies several famous artistes like Ustad Shahid Parvez, Ustad Aashish Khan and many others from India in major venues in India, USA, Canada and Europe. He is also a very successful teacher, running his own institution of tabla named Pushpak in Toronto,Canada.

Sheela Bringi
Sheela Bringi ~ bansuri & harp

Sheea Bringi is a rare songbird whose music is both earthen and ethereal. A versatile performer with roots in Indian classical and jazz music, Sheela sings and plays the harp and the classical Indian bansuri flute. As a performer and improviser, Sheela has been shaped by her study of the bansuri under Maestro G.S. Sachdev, and her work with diverse artists including Meredith Monk, Cecil Taylor, Aashish Khan and Swapan Chaudhuri. Sheela earned her MFA from the Herb Alpert School of Music at the California Institute of the Arts, and her original arrangements of Indian songs were chosen for recording at Capitol Records two years in a row on the annual CalArts Jazz CD (08/09). Sheela is currently working on her third album with PremaSoul, her band with Southern jazz trumpeter Clinton Patterson, described by the press as a "colorful mosaic of intriguing, rhythmic meditations", "music for the future", with "universal appeal".

Shashanka Bakshi
Shashanka Bakshi ~ Tabla

Received his initial training under the guidance of the celebrated tabla maestro Kanai Dutta and later became the direct disciple of the legendary Samta Prasad of the Benares tabla school. Shashanka has participated in many prestigious Music Festivals and Conferences throughout India and the world at large. He has toured extensively world-wide and accompanied such celebrated artists as Nikhil Banerjee, Ustad Bahadur Khan, Ustad Imrat Khan, Nishat Khan, Hariprasad Chaurasia, Ravi Shankar, Buddhadev Dasgupta, and many other world calss musicians. Shashanka has also taught tabla to numerous dedicated students in India and the United States for several decades. His illustrious performances, intensive training and dedication have established a revered position for him in the lineage of Indian Classical musicians.
